hi, since i got my hi-deal pinball machine the number of balls was set at 5 balls per game. all of a sudden it started giving a flakey number of balls - sometimes 2, sometimes 4, sometimes 5. any ideas? also how do you set the number of balls per game on a bally's em??

open the metal cover behind the top/backglass of the machine. There should be some jumpers attached to a small brown plastic and have anywhere from 2-4 pins on them. There should be a labele as to which slots they push into to give you the choice pf balls per game, etc. Set it up to how many you want to begin the game with.

hi BR, yeah i can't find the place to set the number of balls per game, but my bigger problem is that i get the wrong number of balls per game when starting a new game.

sometimes it only gives me one ball sometimes 3 balls, sometimes 2 balls. i know it is set to 5 balls per game because that is what it always went to. i've only had the game for a few days and this is the latest problem. these old em machines have a mind of their own.

sounds like what slotsteve said, check the gap on the reed contacts in the backbox that operate the "ball in play" wheel, they may need to be adjusted as well.
