 Hi,

 Here's my problem:

The first time I turned the machine on, it worked properly for 1 minute. It accepted one coin, I played the credit and that was it.

I noticed that the comparitor did not light any more. I checked the cables, one was cut, I slodered it. Now, the comparitor lights when the door is open. How come?  When I press the optic beneath the comparitor, I can credit the machine. As soon as I close the door, by cheating the door stwitch, I can see that the comparitor does not light any more so I cannot play.

Bally experts opinions?

Thanks

Are you getting the "50" door open code in the "Win Paid" window before you cheat the cherry switch?
After you "cheat" the door , does your door display light up?

Yep, I have the " 50" door open before I cheat the cherry switch, when the machine thinks it's closed, then the dispay lights up as it should be, only the comparitor light turns off.

The green light should come back with your 24Vac 16-D CC as you fake the door closure.
It sounds like something wrong with the CC harness possibly.
It's a 6 position molex connector
with three wires going into the left side of CC
facing the door latch in this order from the top:

1-empty
2-white w/brown stripe
3-empty
4-Blue w/brown stripe
5-empty
6-Gray w/orange stripe.

Make sure they are perfect...
If possible, can you post a picture of your repair?
How did the wire break?
Did it get jammed in the door?
Which wire broke?
It could have shorted out against the metal of the door and caused other problems...

I will post a picture tomorrow morning, this will certainly enlighten the problem.

The light in the comparitor is not a green one but a red one.

Hi Blueridges,

I don't think I touched it since the comparitor worked once. I will check that as well though.

Pictures to come tomorrow.

Thanks for your replies. I will come back to that machine this week. I have so many machines to fix that I don't know where to start...
