Bally E 1090   shows a number 7 in left side of display. shows a quick 6 on right then 7 on left stays lit. . I bought a manual.  It says m7 circuit (chip) . On the board it looks like M2, M3, M5 but I don't see 7? Also are these chips available for sale? should that fix it?

There is a smaller RAM board with a battery, mounted to a larger board (MPU). Reseat the RAM board by removing and then reinstalling. Is the battery at 3.6 volts? Try disconnecting all the wiring harnesses on all the board and reconneting them.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try that. I would guess the battery is no good from age. It hasn't leaked.- thats good. Does it need the battery to boot correctly?  thanks

Not sure if you need battery to boot up, but you will need it for normal play of the machine.

7 error code in the manual indicates "no clocked interrupts" . Not sure what that is either.

Hopefully the pro's will chime in here for ya.

TTT for ya.

I have a board that has a 7 error, but I have not dug into it to find what is the cause.

The battery is rechargeable, all you need
to do is leave the machine on for 3 or4 hours
and then retest the battery. If still dead or below 2 volts
then you'll need to replace it.

7 error can be a bad battery - or corrupted cmos (5101).
