Bunker I've study your new avatar which I can only assume that it's one of your childhood photos when you had light colored hair,( strike that,) a photo when you had hair.  Something seems to be missing, does your Mom have another photo of you possibly holding a toy drill motor to your head ??  Seems fitting !!   yes yes

Boy did I ever feel like my avatar this morning!
I went downstairs to check on an S+ that wasn't accepting coins right?
Swapped it out with a new one...still wouldn't take anything.

I pulled out the MPU, checked fuses,  Sherlock Smiley battery voltage...fine?...Hmm?  Pull Hair
Every time  I closed the door, no change on the display  banghead...bad optics?

So, I swapped both emitter and receiver optics with new ones...no go...what the...?  Scratch Head

By this time, the floor is getting packed with players...
I'm sweating because I forgot to remove my fleece pullover.
Sweating like a pig at this point.

I sat down.

Peered over in frustration at the open door.

There it is!  Weird Eyes

Looks like a hanging chad from a Florida ballot... Tongue Out

A piece of paper from rolled coins peeking out from under the coin-in optics sandwiched boards under the coin mech.

Removed the paper, closed the door, display goes black then comes back alive!
Dropped a test coin...voila! Good To Go!!!  Snoopy

I did not know that a blocked coin-in optics would affect the door optics?

You learn something new everyday!  propeller
Did anyone know of this happening before?

Bunker  All I can read in your post is the coin optics were blocked causing a error.   To try to ans.your question.                You replaced the door optics, but were they BAD ??

Damn Bunker,
You still got S+ machines on the floor?
What kinda cas-sino you got going on over there....?

Seriously, do you have a new TITO system going in right now?
I have a friend installing one in your neck of the woods. Wanted to know if it's your location.

Buzz, it was that piece of paper sticking out under the coin-in optics...
It was blocking the "C" optic!
It caused the door optics to malfunction too!
I found out that if you block any optic, including the hopper optics, the other's won't work!

no..no...no TITO's or bill acceptors here!  no
Just plain old coins, dirty fingers, hand-wipes, and lots of soap in the bathrooms!  rotflmao
People still love their coin cups and when the place is packed - it's really noisy! lol
All S+'s only...but there's a couple of small banks of about 20 video's I detest! haha!

Shoot me a PM on the tech's name - I might know him?
I think they're fixing up their TITO system about an hour away from me...

Bunker's av is the perfect illustration of two workshop rules; "Cut to measure, pound to fit," and "Hand me that bigger hammer, I'll tune this thing!"

Happy New Year!
