Antique parking meters

Ken Layton:
Some people collect old parking meters. Here are some resources for antique parking meters:

http://www.mackaymeters.com/

http://duncansolutions.com/duncanindustries/support/downloads/downloads.htm

This document is good for rebuilding old meters:

Ken Layton:
Here's a picture (borrowed to illustrate my point) of how an old parking meter such as a Duncan is displayed. A short piece of cast iron pipe holds it nicely.

I saw a parking meter in the bushes once with money in it! Did not pick it up as I thought it might be a police sting!

jay:
Someone problaby stole it, found too hard to break in and then ditched it.

Yeh, that's probably exactly what happened. We had a rash of those thefts several years ago in my locality.

Anyway, for those that need parts for old parking meters, Duncan still sells parts for their meters. There's a few sellers on ebay making reproduction parts like dome lenses and flag decals. Just type "parking meter" into ebay's search box.
