Title: Bally Classic
Post by: Neonkiss on June 17, 2013, 09:10:20 PM
I picked up a Bally Classic and I have an issue with the payouts.
it's a 3C Buy a Pay machine. Almost all pays are close to double what they should be.
a single cherry should pay 2 and usually pays 4
2 cherries should pay 5 and usually pay 10

I can get one of the cherry stops to always pay the correct amount of two, but most are random payouts of almost double.
I checked the zero stop and it's set correctly but I noticed it resets immediately after a pay. I thought they were to hold the position and reset with the next spin?? Otherwise it appears to step up correctly.

The wipers on the reels appear to have good tension, but the reel stop detents in the fiber board look a little wide making the stop position a little loose. Is this normal?

Unless it has been modified, it should only reset with the next handle pull.

That's what all my other machines do.
I just didn't know if the Classic was different.

it should NOT reset payout till start of next game or it would pay you more than once , you either have set of points to close or broken or touching

OK,
I solved the payout issue.
Finally got time to work on the machine out in the garage.  >:D It's been hotter than Hades out their lately, but this afternoon it was overcast.
I have an extension harness for the hopper and was able to run it outside the machine. When I manually stepped up the payouts it paid perfectly. I then noticed that not all the coins were being counted as they exited the hopper. A quick examination of the knife and I noticed the rear exit ramp off the knife was bent down slightly. Bent it back to position and now all coins are counted and the payout are correct.

Machine is really clean and I'll post some pictures latter.
