Probably a stupid question, but can a 145 be used in place of a dead 200 in a WMS 360 slant top?

The stupid question is the one you DONT ask.

Yes a 145 with the right software can be used.
The power supply from the 200 will work with it.
One of the obvious problems will be only 2 way acceptance of bills vs 4.
No support for the colored bills.

145 went end of life when the new colored 20s came out, 10s, 5s  not being supported either much less the newly released magnetic 100's

Thanks for replying.  Here's the reason I ask, I just bought a second 360 the other night, and need some help figuring out whats up with it.

1) The DBV 200 seems messed up.  (DBV-200 A344,  12V 1.0A,  ID 044/045W,  V 2.12-03)  This head won't take bills at all.  It powers up and makes the noises, but then won't take a bill.  I swapped it with the one from my working machine, and it did the same thing in there.  The working one put into this machine will take a bill, but....

2) bill transport/stacker not working.  The transport doesn't make noises during bootup like the head does.  When I put the good 200 head (DBV-200, 12V 15VA, ID 044/45W, V. 2.05-02) on there, the bill goes in and just stops.  It sits there just out of the DBV head and does not register credits.

I have a couple of IGT slant tops in my garage with working 145's in them I could rob.  The main goal here is just to get some credits on this machine to play it without having to dump in a hundred nickles.

As far as taking newer bills, my working 200 has old software on it and I (luckily) have one of the old style $100 I kept to use to put in there.  I need to update the EPROM in there at some point.....

The IGT 145's will work if you put the right software in them.  It's just changing a EPROM if you can find the right one.

Turns out the transport does power up and cycle, but still won't take a bill through to the stacker.
