A quick question kinda on this topic. Can a 145 dbv be replaced by a 200 dbv with no modifications? Wiring , transport , power supply etc?

Basically, yes, as long as the 200 has the right software ID for the machine. In addition, the S+ needs to have the newer DBV PS (with the vent slits) or it will also need upgrading (simple to do). Most other machines do not have that issue (Wms, Bally, etc.)

OK thanks for the information Stat. I missed the part where this was a Williams machine. So from your post I would assume that a Bally proslot 5500 would just need the upgraded dbv head not the whole transport, cashcan power supply. I'm not there yet to work on that til i get the other problems worked out, just planning in advance for life's little treasures Smiley

You should be able to just swap out heads for a Bally 5500. It's been so long since I've done it that I don't remember if a clear was needed or not -- probably not.

Golfover,

IF you are going from a US 145 to a US 200 its just a head swap, and possibly power supply swap if this is a IGT. The power supply is just plug and Pray.
4 screws, and your done.....(sounds like Mel Gibson).

In this thread we are discussing the move from a Canadian CBA to US DBV which is more complicated because the width of the money differs - as such the transport mech, cash can etc needs to be swapped to make everything work properly.

Thanks for paying attention Jay -- I wasn't really looking.  I split out these posts into a new thread.

Sorry   no Didn't mean to confuse anyone. I just read  the post about the swapping of the 145 for the 200 and wondered about it Scratch Head But as always everyone on this board is a great help! When i get ready for the DBV plunge I'll do more research on the board as I am sure this has been asked and answered here already.
