I have tried a different quarter into the coin comparitor (cc16-d.100) but still the same results, the wires look fine as do the connectors. What things should i try b4 i purchase another comparitor. I'm not getting any error codes. and the insert coin light is not on.... please help ASAP,as company is coming into town this weekend and i would love to get it working.....OOOOOO YEA ,The dollar bill acceptor works fine   IS THIS (cc16-d.100) A 24VOLT coin comparitor

It's an s+ machine so the comparitor should be 24v. Was it working and quit or has it never worked since you had it. First thing I'd check is if the red or green light on the comparitor is lit. If not you might need a new comparitor. Check voltage on the plug first though. Check to make sure it has a sample coin inserted. Make sure there are no coins jammed in the comparitor. Make sure credits on the machine don't exceed credit limit settings on the machine. Just a few things to try and narrow down the possibilities

Try turning the sensitivity clockwise then counter clockwise until it stops .. bottom right side of comparitor where the arrow and plus sign is.

You will not see the light on with the door open in a S+ machine.

If you are 100% sure the coin is seated correctly then most likely you need another comparitor.

You can temporally bypass the coin comparator by blocking the rake back
or removing it completely.
The bad side is if more coins are dropped than needed
you will get coin in errors.

You might try pulling the comparitor and optics out and cleaning them to see if you just have a piece of gunk stuck in there inhibiting the comparitors functioning properly. As far as exceeding the credit limit, just play a couple dozen off and see if it works till you reach that number of credits on the meter again.

Crown and cokes are starting so sink in, sorry bout the spelling drinker

I think a clue here is both the CC AND optics both seem to no longer be working.

Can you press the white button on the coin optics board and put a credit on the machine?

Open the door and on the optics board right below the coin comparitor is a small white button. When you press it, it should put a credit on the machine that you can play with the door open.

I don't think that is it. On my machine if I have the max number of credits, it disables the BV, but will still accept coins. Any wins get paid out of the hopper though.

Well, that is still a good sign. Now just to eliminate one more thing, put another credit on with the button and don't play it, but close and latch the door. The credit should go away. That will tell if your door optics are working.
