My IGT Slot just stopped working out of the blue. The Red light at the bottoms of the MPU is blinking and the lights behind the reels are lightly blinking also.
I did replace the power supply and MPU, but no luck.

Has anyone else had this type of malfunction?  Any information on fixing this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. The vfd and play buttons are not working either.
I'll check the connections, thanks.

Mikey    Before I forget   NLG Welcome

I don't have a clue to whats wrong with your machine but the reel lights blinking I think is going to be a good thing. The reel lights are always on in the dim mode and get bright when you hit a winner. As Roz said check the door IO, I just did and if you lift the IO up a inch or so and watch the reel lights if they start burning steady you found the dirty dog that's your problem. If no change do the same thing to the lower IO. The reel lights will go out when you pull the lower IO but the red LED should either stop or contune blinking if it's the problem. You see where this is going, unplug and replug until something makes those reel lights change what they are doing ( blinking )n Don't forget to pull the BV and cash can out, you never know. ( I think I would start with the BV )

The power supply you changed, is that the one that's behind the reels ?? Some folks think the box on the floor behind the hopper is the power supply and it's not. The buttons on the deck will not light up until the door is closed and the machine is ready to play, any errors and they will not light up. The VFD should come on and that one is giving me trouble.

Wouldn't hurt to check the power cord from the wall to the machine, maybe try a different wall outlet.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I'm about 0 for 10 this week.

Awesome advice. I'll check everything you mentioned. The power supply i replaced is the one behind the reels.

Be very careful to power machine off before removing or installing ANY boards or plugs. You'll end up with more problems than you have now

Well... I replaced the door I/O and nothing happened. The slot is still not working. I'm not sure what else to replace?

I'm confused....how/why did you determine it was the Door I/O, when it wasn't after all?

I would replace the backplane, or at least remove it and check for shorts.
