I wonder if that was used for a meter to count the payout.  Scratch Head
Another great OldReno question.

I think you might be right, but I have not seen him here in a while!?

I have my suspicions what the switch does but I don't want to make too much noise about it (Yet)....

Unless i am mistaken,  that switch in your photo is for  the winner paid light. Once a win is hit and the coins are being paid out, the ratched gear is stepped. The movement of the ratchet gear closes the switch for the winner paid light. When a new game is played, the movement of the B switch sends a pulse through the closed open at zero switch to a solenoid which resets the ratched gear, opens the  open zero switch and the winner paid switch is opened shutting it off.

I hope I of have that right. If not I will appreciate corrections.

rdaniel, you are exactly right.  Also, you can put an extra set of leafs on that stack in theory, and use it as your zero switch, so long as you are certain that you don't mix your 6V and 50V.
As soon as your linkage on the 100 step gear is released, that light is able to turn on.  However, as long as the machine is still paying, it will not come on because it also goes through a N.C. switch on the payout relay stack, which opens during pays.
Generally there are only those 2 switches controlling that light.
Good description rd.

Thanks guys!

A lot of good info here!!

The following is just a FYI, FWIW!

The 1st attached photo shows my hopper board as it is now.

I know it is NOT correct but without driving myself up the wall, it is the best that I can get it.  ALL payouts with the exception of the 200 coin are right on!  2 times in the past couple of weeks I have adjusted the 200 coin payout and all of the other payouts went berserk, so this compromise is the best that I can get it.  As it is the 200 payout actually pays about 150 coins, if I move the wiper to pay more (Just a hair), it will pay about 250 coins+ and the timer shuts the machine down.  This may not fly in a casino, but in my game room it is good enough for whom it is for!!

Another thread on my other 873 is coming soon  Duh! - Yes, I have 2 873's Scratch Head

Is it permissible/advisable to swap the hoppers between the 2 machines (See attached)?  If so, due to the location of the machines it would make trouble shooting and adjusting more more convenient.

TIA!!

JMac,
The hopper on the right is an older one, as you can tell by the over-ride solenoid near the top left side.
The other hopper, has instead, a hopper motor brake, which you can see in the hole in the bottom just poking through.  The motor brake needs no wiring, whereas the over-ride solenoid does.  It however (over-ride) I suspect draws its current from the same switches that power the hopper motor.
If the wiring on the Beau plugs is the same color, then it should be ok.
Hopefully, the worst that will happen is that you will pop a fuse, if they are not compatible, but I kind of suspect they are.

Thanks for the info, as it turns out I did not need to swap them for trouble shooting.  What I found with BOTH units was they were not indexed properly when I got the machines, so setting the payouts was problematic at best.

Once I figured that out and indexed them my payout problems went away (One exception - in a new thread).

Thanks for all the help!!
