Title: Bally 989 Payout problems
Post by: SK8US on March 19, 2010, 06:02:30 PM
Hi again,
I have a Bally 989 4 reel slot that pays out only the 4 matches. When I line up the three bars or watermelons it wont payout. I have power (gray wire) to the reels and continuity to the hopper. When I check the plug in the back I get continuity both directions on 4 matches, when I check the continuity on three I get continuity only one direction. I believe the gray is the in feed and in this case the blue orange the outfeed on a three match but when I put the ohm meter red on the gray it wont travel this way.
Hope I covered the problem but I think its in the reels?
Scott

I found 2 bad Diodes on the reels, I'll try replacing them and will get back.
I think they are called Diodes?
Oh well I have the like and will replace.

they used In4003? diodes to make a bridge rectifier on them - there should be a fuse on the mech as well if I remember correctly - the made the payout DC vs AC.
