I have a Triple Stars and set the multimedia sounds to enhanced/preferred, I play it for awhile, but when I power off and power on again, the sounds go back to legacy. Also, it is set my game volume to 7 for the volume level, but it is not as loud as my others set to 7, in fact, it sounds a little "scratchy" when I insert cash money and when the rollup is sounding. I have the 47k resistors on all three speakers and have swapped the sound amp board in the top box. I do have other working multimedia boards, sound simms and other cpu boards if swapping those would help.

Thanks,

David

Are you losing any other settings? First thing that comes to my mind is use a meter to check the battery voltage... Scratch Head

Whoa...47k ohm or 47 ohm?  If 47 ohm, volume at 7 or 8 should give you nice non-distorted sound.  Watch that the resistor on the tray speaker isn't attaching itself to the magnet on the speaker.  That will screw with your sound.  I had to tape that wire down to the frame.

47 not 47k, my mistake. Yes, all 3 speakers and yes I do have the bottom one taped.

Yeah, I'd swap the mml2 and/or dsv SIMM as a starting point.

ok, i'll try that. Are there any different sound simms I can use for the Triple Stars such as when using a Wild Thing or Mummy on a DD Deluxe or a Crystal 7s, or am I stuck with the common 42 simm?

Thanks,

What MPU do you have?
if it is 504B or 1270 no need for resistors.

witch SG chip are you using because I had the same problem with my five times pay with SG000155's and had to use SG000363's to get to save my sound settings after turning off the machine.

yes , that is your problem, earlier SG chips would do this, I even had some in the 200 series do this,  mostly the the 100 series.
