I have this machine and I do not have any sound simm on the main board.  It does not have a piggie back board either.

BTW, I could use a new set of back lite reels also.  Did you ever find any?

still looking, are yours the washable type? Also, could you send me some pics of the area inside the top box so I can understand how to install the lcd screen and the big bracket and the small flourescent light? I bought this as a roundtop kit and I really want to convert it to one of my other slots. No big rush, but if you have some free time soon, they would be greatly appreciated.

I'll try to send some pics tomorrow night.  I don't think my reel strips are washable and they are pretty faded in spots.
I have a 16" top but I would think the mountings would be the same.
