I was transporting my UV eprom eraser home and turned it on - no lights.  Scratch Head 3
So I removed the top cover and looked inside...the lamp is burned out!  bawling hissy fit

It's held in place by a couple of clips mounted to the floor of the box.
Four wires coming from the circuit board are soldered to the bulbs contact pins.
That's not a problem to un-solder and re-solder the wires when I get a replacement lamp.
But upon closer inspection  Sherlock Smiley of the lamp bulb itself - there are NO markings on it at all!  banghead

What in the world should I try to get as a replacement lamp/bulb?  Scratch Head 2
The lamp is 5-3/8" long and roughly 9/16" in diameter.

For the price of the bulb, might be cheaper to just buy a new unit.

haha! I almost agree with you Poppo!
I can't remember what I paid for this thing.
I've used it quite a bit...but 6,000 hrs?
I shouldn't be banging it around... rotflmao

I did some digging around.
The body of this UV lamp I have is: 135mm in length and 15mm in diameter.

That seems to match the dimensions on the chart to the website you led me to.
I think I would need the first on on top...the G4T5VH lamp or the G4T5L lamp?

Here's the link to that page...>>>

Gave up looking for a .9watt lamp to fit this thing.
All I see are the longer and 4 watts lamps.
So I bought a new eprom eraser...
It has little  bit of Chinese writing on it...  rotflmao

Total cost: $17.24

I wouldn't go to China right now.
We are buying so many products from Chine  I  would wait until the Bridge is finished in a  couple of months and you can drive  there..  Unless you live in New  York City,  you can take a Cab.
Good luck on the Bulb.

As much as I hate to say it, a lot of the electronics stuff coming out of China works pretty good.  I would rather buy USA, but I'm not going to pay 4x as much (and the components probably still came from China).

rotflmao haha! I've had mine for about 3-4 years now I believe.
Do I use it a lot? YEAH!
I'm ALWAYS constantly erasing eproms and fooling around with them!
But I do think now, when looking back at it, did NOT use up it's life of roughly 6,000 hrs.

I pulled the 3 screws off of the small transformer board in it.
Guess what I found under the board?
An NM27C512 stuck under it.

I'll betcha the eprom shorted out the board somehow and sent way more than 24 volts to the lamp!!!

Hey!  idea light bulb I have one of those currency checkers with the small blue lamp that's exactly the same length as this G4T5 bulb.
I wonder if it will work in a pinch?  stir the pot / get cooking

BE RIGHT BACK! ZOOOM!>>>> ( Bunker runs to go find it in the garage somewhere! >>>  Road Runner Snoopy )

Okay, I've placed the chip under a ...get this name...lol...>>> a "$CAN = PLU$" money detector.  LOL!
I think it was for checking Canadian bills at the store we had back in the 90's.
Anyways, I put the chip on top of a Christmas wrapping Scotch tape plastic dispenser thing so
the UV "eye" is about an inch away from the purple light.

I wonder how long it has to stay there to get erased?

Nope...15 minutes and the checksum is still the same. (note to self: 9400)
I'll leave it for another 45 minutes and see if the checksum changes at all...
