Air cylinder is stuck and I can not get it to move at all.  Any suggestions on how to free it up?

take it off the side of the mech pull the metel rod out of the casing there will be rubber melted in the casing clean it up good and lube the piston up with a grease and it will work good after that.

These are a very easy fix.. Pull out the reel assembly. Remove the 4 Phillips screws holding it to the reel assembly and the pin and e-clip. Now pull out the plunger and you will see whats left of the rubber seal. Push out the pin holding the piston to the linkage, DON'T LOOSE THE SPACERS INSIDE OF THE PISTON... I have used everything from rubbing alcohol to paint thinner to clean off the melted rubber. Clean the inside of the piston cylinder, making sure the vent hole in the bottom is clear. Now reassemble with a very light coating of a light weight grease. Don't use too much grease or you will have a mess out the vent hole. Then reassemble everything and it should work as good as new...

Good luck with your project...

Bob,

Use finger nail polish remover. its the only thing that will cut the rubber.

aslo wear rubber latex gloves, when this goo starts coming off it will stain you hands, it will eventually come off , but gloves help a lot

clean all the parts and the the inside of the cyclinder, keep the hole clean, reassemble , and it should work fine.

the handle will fly back a little faster, nothing that can be done about this.

Jim  I'm pretty sure acetone and finger nail polish remover are the same thing. I buy it by the quart at the hardware store. Plus it's a damn good fire starter in my fireplace!!!  ( Don't use very much unless you want to loose all the hair on your arm ) been there, done that  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But what about when the rubber is completely disentagrated?   Mine was... I removed it completely.. but the handle now flys back to quick and many times bounces forward enough to prevent any more coins from being added until you push the handle back.

Anyone made a replacement "flap".  Know where I can buy a replacement "flap"?

Thanks!
