Title: S-2000 Reel Touch
Post by: Ron (r273) on November 22, 2009, 11:41:38 AM
My new machine (Buck$ Ahoy) is new to me. I have no information on the top box. Does anyone have
a manual or information sheet? I would also like to get a PSR on SG000239 which would be a real help.

 :99-  Thanks,

Ron (r273)

Ron,

I have not come across any manuals for them, but I am fairly handy with them at this point so let me know if you have any problems.

Also, be sure to watch for my post here in about 3 to 4 weeks when I have time on "known top box power supply problems, Reel Touch machines".  As the top box is not properly ventilated, and the top box power supply (behind the LCD) is sized to the absolute limit (grossly undersized), they pop and go bad on a regular basis.  That power supply is very difficult (if not impossible) and expensive to get in the after market.  You will end up with a dead machine.  In the 8 Reel Touch machines that have gone through my doors over the past month, I have watched 3 of them go bad.  I have been working with another NLG member to build replacement power supplies with proper pin outs and is oversized by 50 watts.  I will make them available in very limited quantities.  If you are a current or future Reel Touch owner....you will need one or two of these as back ups.  I don't have time to go into more details right now, but check back around Christmas time.

Jim

Thanks Jim, you can put me on your list of your power supply for sure, as I do have a touch screen.

I am a hopefull future owner of a couple of these.  I had heard about the top box pwr supplies and monitors so about a year ago I started saving some of these.  Ron, Is your Bucks Ahoy game fun to play-?.  Thanks B. I am at work now and it has slowed down a good bit so I have a little time to chat here today.

I answered the door, Thank you!

Pwrstroke, since I like the reel games, the LCD adds to the game and makes it fun to play.
It is the best of both worlds for me.  I do wish it had more than two bonus rounds, but I still
like to play it.

On my Lobstermania there is only one bonus round  :60-

I always thought that there was a second bonus round called the great lobster escape - when you got 3 scatter symbols.  I must be thinking of a different game.

I still love the slot though.  It's my favorite.

How many bonus rounds is on the reel-touch tabasco-?.  That is one of the ones I was looking at and Bucks Ahoy.  I had heard Denver Ducks is good also- :103-.  Thanks B.

Tabasco has 3!

Don't know about the duck.

Denver only has 1 bonus round, but it's a Whopper.

I love the Tabasco for it's humor and cartoonish graphics.  Barry, given your location, this one should be a no brainer for you as the style of this game will fit right in.  It's always been my favorite RT, and I still have my own today.

With that said, the Duck is hands down the best for topbox graphics and sound quality.  It is one of the newer game designs and it shows.  Although it only has one bonus...if you ever wanted to feel like Indiana Jones going after the treasure...well then this is the game for you.

We have 7 of those RT on our floor, 4 Denver Ducks, 1 Tabasco, 1 Bucks Ahoy and 1 lucky Larry lobstermanin. People love those games. We had one of the MPU's die in the past year so we lost a Tabasco to storage and parts but the others have very few problems. They are tanks. Its a pain in the ass to reload the games and Operating system if you have too, I never liked the CD trip, you can really tell where the AVP came from on these games.

That's a great film clip Munch!
Thanks for showing us... :89-
I was surprised at the age of the bios in the computer...
It's a fairly older motherboard with a Pentium III CPU....wow!

rotarnaut,  Your facility needs to completley "loose" the parts tabasco .  Have them send me the complete broken game and I can arrange a good spare parts inventory for them-- :96-.  Just BS'ing -I know how the casino stuff works-Wishful thinking on my part.  Also thanks munch for the viedo.  I think I could nearly build one of these now but it would take from my other project (barcrest) that needs the top box.  So I thought I would just like one or a few already built/complete.  Non-working is okay with me as well.  Thanks B.

I would love that *part* machine too!! Especially the reels.  The 5 reel s2000 skinny reels are difficult to come by.

Rotornaut - what board died?  Was it the computer motherboard? or the MPU?

You'd think the company would replace the MPU board as
quickly as possible to keep the machine on the floor making money? :52-

Yeah  - I'm guessing that it is the computer motherboard.  This would be harder to replace.

I think the MPU is a standard S2000 model.  I don't know cause I don't have an S2000.  But if it is they could replace that lower MPU for $60.

You would be suprised at how cheap some casinos are on replaceing parts on older games even though they continue to rake the dough in no matter what- :200-.  This is where we come to the casino/warehouse auctions etc.. Some of these (a lot) of them need tlc and have been robbed of some componets.  It is a pot-luck thing.  The winner gets them and makes the decision to repair or sale as-is depending on the game.  Then again a lot of these will work just fine-Just depends on the casino/market as to why they become available in diff. states etc..  I think a lot of the heavy hitter ones have the 5-Year rule.  Thanks B.

PWRStroke your 100% right - I'm thinking from the point of view of a home user.  A casino might have to spend hundreds on an MPU.

Those games don't make enough money to warrant buying a new Computer to keep it on the floor(the MPU was fine The Cheese Ball CPU box died). It wasn't my choice at the time and maybee it will be resurrected at some point but i doubt it. As fun as those games seem to be customers are more interested in playing Newer Aristocrat Video Pennies Or Ballys Alpha's Blazing 7"s than them.

I wish I could loose that game and destroy the parts Via shipping to Independent Home Destruction Companies. I actually have kept my other 7 RT's alive with the guts from that one. I also know the day will come that some Drunk breaks one of the Glasses on the Tabasco I have and I will have one on deck.
