Title: Animated Gifs
Post by: Yoeddy1 on September 26, 2010, 02:16:47 AM
Hey NLG leadership,

I've seen a few animated gif avatars out here.  I've tried a couple and they aren't animated when uploaded to my profile.  Is this a "gold" thing or is there a size limiitation?

Thanks,
Jason

My experience has been that if they have to be re-sized too much to fit, they don't work. There may be another reason that Joey knows of.

What program do you use to modify your animated gifs?

I don't use/have a program to resize animated gifs...there just happened to be a smaller version of the file on the web.

Well, I've been looking for (hopefully free) software that can assemble and modify the frames of animated gifs and set the timing, etc. Does anyone have a recommendation, or is there a part of Photoshop that will do it? :128-

ImageReady is the Adobe software needed to make them, but you can do it online via web sites like
www.gifninja.com (http://www.gifninja.com)
and
http://picasion.com/ (http://picasion.com/)

<edit>

Here's how to do it in PhotoShop...
