A quick inspection a few caps had been half wiped out. Removed and replaced a couple. Game completely dead, judicial finger pressure around 24mhz xtal and associated ls04 produced a non synced garbage. Replaced xtal and Ls04, game booted but graphics a mess. Lines through sprites and colour all wrong. Reseated EPROMs and this fixed some things and made others worse, colors fixed but background bleeding, cleaned all EPROM legs and also sockets with contact cleaner and a small "ic pin tool" I made to clean the pin guides themselves. Game booted, coined and played but no sound. Clck missing on 6803 in sound subsection. Bootleg has some crazy clock circuit with xtal in series with vcc of a 74ls92. Shotgunned it with xtal, ic and the ceramics connected to various pins of ls92. All good.
