I have this same machine.  First a few basic questions to see if you have basic sounds or enhanced sounds.  Don't pay attention to the themes, just the sounds...

If you have sound option 1, you have the basic sounds without the MM2 Lite sound board/DSV00042 Sound SIMM

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/JAEMc5fflJE&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/JAEMc5fflJE&rel=0</a>

If you have sound option 2, you have the decked out version with the MM2 Lite sound board/DSV00042 Sound SIMM

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/l_RqRg-3nYY&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/l_RqRg-3nYY&rel=0</a>

The reason I ask, is because I believe the basic sound option will only play out of one speaker.  The other possibility, is that you might be set to mono sound instead of stereo...granted you have option 1 for a sound package.

Had it been playing in stereo?  Could be wiring or an amp, but let's cover the basics first.

Thanks,
Jason

Well, here's a visual guide to give you an idea of how to find the white test button and how to navigate.  This was a tutorial that Brianzz put together for us here.  His video outlines the sound options if you have the beefed up sound package.  In your case, you will have limited sound options.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/27hc-qw2uos&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/27hc-qw2uos&rel=0</a>

Here's another excellent video made by a69mopar which are VERY step by step:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/qCnCFHE1eoU&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/qCnCFHE1eoU&rel=0</a>

Your options will be more basic than a69mopar's example, but the principle is the same. Your options will be more basic since you are running basic sounds.  Set it to "stereo" and let us know if anything changes.

Thanks,
Jason

Whether it's in mono or stereo, it'll still output sound to both speakers.

More than likely the MMLII (Multi Media Lite II) board is to blame -- I have a faulty board in one of my machines which has the exact same issue.  If I swap boards, the problem follows the board.

Kevin, I ran a test a few weeks ago in my DDD and I took the MMLII board off of the board.  The only way I could get the sounds played in the RWB featured above to play on my machine was to remove the MMLII.  If the MMLII/DSV00042 was installed, those sounds were absent, so my assumption is that brandyspoppa doesn't have that hardware installed.  If memory serves, when I ran barebones producing the sounds of the RWB, it was output mono, even though stereo was active, but I could be wrong.  I guess I'm using the same theory as Game King...poker games sounds are still output in one speaker even though stereo is enabled.

Brandyspoppa, do you recall EVER getting sound playing out of both speakers and then it stopped working, or have you always had sound ONLY playing out of one speaker?

Thanks,
Jason

Do you see an option called "audio mode?". I think the setting to switch between stereo/mono is there.

Thanks,

I just tried it on my double diamond deluxe. no multimedia board installed. it has an in line amp installed up in the top  box.
you will only get sound out of one speaker, there will be no option for stereo or mono, sound out of one speaker only.
you will get  sound out of the tray speaker. without a multimedia board and simms card you are limited as to what you can do.
this can be done with credits on the machine. open the door and press the test button on the cpu board. cashout, service, spinreels and betmax should be lit.
these four buttons are used to select menus and options. cashout is used to go from option 1 to 7,  the service is used to go back up from 7 to 1.
anytime you get to a option you want ,hit the spin reels button, it will place you in a sub-menu,now the service/cashout serve a different function, here you can select the option you want, then hit the bet max button to lock that option in. then by hitting the bet max button again will return you to the sub menu to continue selecting different available options. use the same procedure for all the menus. it will take some practice to see how it works. when in doubt hit the bet max button three times ,it will get you out of the test modes and back to idle mode. then you can start over again. once you get the hang of this then you can test the audio and set the volume levels. the sound test in #4 I/O tests  provides four individual sound bites,click1 mono  top speaker, coin-in top speaker and tray speaker, ding1 bothspeakers, dink  top, dong 1 both with a fading effect. I have the left top speaker as the active speaker , when you do the dong1 test you can hear the audio start on the top and fade to the tray speaker, yes you have to have your ear close to the tray speaker. on a bigger win (around thirtycredits) you will hear the base kick in coming from the tray speaker ,almost like stereo, top speaker on the left, tray speaker on the right,

In all seriousness, welcome to NLG, and you're right -- the people on this site are fantastic.  Without a doubt, this is the best website for information and help for home ownership of slot machines.
