Doug, do you have a manual for the game maker? If not I can try and email you one.
Send your email to fordsbs@epix.net And I'll try and send you one.

Doug, Manual should be in your email.
On NLG go to
forum index
video slots
Bally game maker
If you look through there you might find some help.

Don't know what was going on at the time, probably running up some credits. The manual was too big for my e-mail. Thanks for trying.

Yes, tried every test the machine would allow. the only output lit is drop door but don't think that has an effect. The bill comparitor is disabled, that is my next chore, Have another on the way.

Does EXTRA COIN possibly mean the machine thinks it paid out one coin too many?

Coins pass straight thru to tray. Hopper full all okay, need to know what manual says error is and what causes it.

I'm not sure I can add much. The error probably means that an extra coin was paid out through the hopper, but clearing that should have been much easier than you've related. Check to make sure that there isn't a coin stuck in the exit chute of the hopper and that the optic is not blocked or dirty (lint, etc.). For giggles, do the same with the coin comparitor. Make sure that the comparitor coin path is clean and that the sample coin is properly inserted. At that point the error should clear by just closing the door, or in some cases by pressing the reset button or power cycling the machine and closing the door.

If that didn't work, I'd check the battery on the MPU board. It is a 3.6v battery and would have 3.7v when full. Make sure that it has at least 3.00v, and preferably 3.5 or more.

The comparitor is new, the hopper test cycles and ejects coins, I have not tried the battery but will. Thanks.
I thought maybe another reset and the pulling battery jumper to clear all. There are 800 credits available and that possibly could be the culprit?.
If you come up with any other suggestions please let me know.
What is power cycling the machine?
Thanks Again,
Doug

One last possibility, There is a green and red light on the hopper. Is one supposed to be lit, maybe the green. Is it possible the coin wiper needs some type of adjustment?

If you disconnect the battery you will need a clear chip to set the game up again.

I was going to suggest trying a full clear after we had determined the state of your battery, as it will not do any good if your battery voltage is low. If you don't already own a clear chip, you can buy one from one of our vendors. It's a handy chip to have around.

<ADD> Bally hoppers can be run backwards or forwards using push buttons on the hopper. The green light signifies forward travel and the red, backwards travel. I've never seen the yellow LED turn on.

When you manually run the hopper, one light will come on steadily until you stop the hopper, at which time the second LED will flash briefly before they both go out.

If the drop door output is lit because the machine sees the door open, the machine will go into extra coin error because one of the doors is open. find the wires for the drop door, or the switch and make sure it is connecting the circuit to close that door, could be why the error will not clear, bally machines will not clear errors unless ALL doors are closed.
