My PE machine will sometimes sit unplayed for a month or so. When I turn it on it won't register coins for about 15-30 minutes until it "warms up". Then it registers the coins and plays normally.
Could this be the ABC optics going out or do they either work or not?
I can add credits right away with the door open using the little button on the optics board.

If not ABC, what else could it be?

It could be bad optics...I would look for "cold" solder connections and/or carefully re-solder all the connection on the optics board and see if the clears the problem...If that does not do it, re-check all your connections and voltages...

Use the self test input screen to see what your machine is seeing reported by the optics - that will help you troubleshoot the issue.
