Is it an upright, slant top, or bartop drop-in? Does it have coin handling equipment installed? Are there any coins jammed in the coin-in optics (located just below the coin comparator)?

Press the self-test button once. What is listed next to coin-in a, b, and c on the self-test inputs screen?

The test shows one optic not working,  would this cause the coin not to fall throught the comparitor?

They should all be one and change when a coin drops through. Check the connector where the whole assembly connects to the machine wiring. Sometime the contacts are "stretched" and dont make contact.

If one of the optics isn't working correctly, it will generate the coin-in time out. When you say it's not working, is it stuck on, or is it never activating?
