ok not sure of what type of machine i have ? or how to tell? the battery was dead so i replaced it . done this in several machines before. hit reset key/switch and it works.   this machine  after replaceing the battery it comes up saying cmos data this machine has multi games in it.  dont know if it makes a difference? hit the reset switch and it ask about meters  so i pick hold  button for three meters and the next screen says call attendent noting else. if i power down,then back on goes through same deal. do i need to use clear chip?  thanks for the help   james

You might need a clear chip.  Here is the common steps to clear an error ...

1)  Turn on machine.
2)  Open door and press and hold White Test button (little white button on MPU) for about 5 seconds.
3)  Close the door.
4)  Turn the Jackpot Reset Key on the side.

Repeat steps 2 through 4 until all issues resolved.  You may have to repeat this 2 to 3 times.

If the CMOS error still appears, then you're looking at a SET chip.

Well said, Dave.  If you turn the jackpot reset key first then it will just bring you into the meters, as was described in the initial post.  James: be sure to follow the directions that Dave/4 Deuces posted exactly in that order to get your machine up and running (although you'd need a CLEAR chip if all else fails -- a SET chip would just enable the bill validator).

thank you for the info   it work just like you said..    my problem was that the key has been removed and i was jumping the switch with the door open   shut the door  and  it works  thanks again for the help
