If I decide I want something on eBay, That is my choice. I decide I want to spend up a certain amount to get it that is my choice.
If someone else wants it then they will have to outbid me, or wait until someone else puts a identical item on eBay.
Last time I checked this is America and I have the right to spend my money that is left over after rent, utilities, food, etc is paid. on my choice of items and no one can change that.

Someone got angry because i wanted either one of 2 items on eBay and I was willing to pay what I bid on either one of them.

I did not win either one.

I only wanted one of them.

Someone else decided they was worth more than I was willing to spend that is fine. Do not complain by anonymous e-mail.

Wait til the last 5 seconds, enter the max you're willing to spend. You'll either get it for waht it is worth to you, or someone else will decide it's worth more. No sense driving up the price.

They wanted to get them inexpensively and that did not happen.
Which only happens when the supply is high enough and the demand is low.

Since there was 2 items and the other person wanted both, I wanted one of them, the price for both items jumped up at the last few seconds.
I only went after the second item after loosing out on the first one.
Rare items are going to cost more.

Like I said I was willing to settle for one of them but that didn't happen.
I have had to over pay for some things on ebay: Haywire Deluxe kit, Wild Cherry Kit (plexiglass copy).
Maybe other things from there, I cant remember.

FYI the items are muliti-line games for the S2000 with a coin multiplier per line.

So based upon your previous post asking about multii coins per line games you bid a large sum of money for a game you couldn't use and lost?

If I had won either one of the kits, I would srtart acquiring the rest of the parts to complete the conversion.

Which means someone with the parts could have made some money off me.
Guess I will wait until someone wants to put those parts up for sale as well.

Just for future reference the conversion parts will set you back at least $700 to make it complete.

For anyone interested there is a great service available for your use on Ebay that really helps keep the price down and lets you sneak in the last 3 seconds of the auction and place your bid automatically.  You can find it at www.bidnapper.com and you can try it free for 15 days.

If I find something I want on Ebay, I never bid on it during the auction, never show interest, or would never want to start a competition with someone as it only drives the price up.  Instead I go to Bidnapper, put in the item number, my max price, and forget about it.  A few days later, 95 times outta a hundred, I get the email saying I won it....and usually for much less than my max price.  Can't tell you how many times I got angry letters from the other bidders...heh.  hissy fit

Good luck all.

Well,  To reply to jeff's post (idesign)  that is pretty much the going price/rate on that 10-button deck with wiring harness from what i have seen.  I had some time back a few of them and they brought next to that each with no questions asked!.   Once you start playing with that sort of stuff you enter a different market as far as slots go.  Just my opinion.  I surely cannot blame anyone looking for a bargin on anything.  Generally I try and find bargins and wait till I can't stand it any more and pay the market price.  Good Luck in your quest.   Maybey Santa Clauz will slide one in your stocking!  bust gut laughing bust gut laughing (just a joke-no pun intended)  Thanks Barry.

It's the equivalent of a turnip truck, as in "having just fallen off of" same. I guess they don't have turnip trucks in Colorado.
Btw, this isn't Foster's first "Noon Balloon". Here is another one he didn't come in on: http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=1249.0

I agree.

Foster, this entire thread is pointless. If you put in your maximum bid seconds before the auction ended and you didn't win the items, then let them go. If someone was childish enough to send you an angry email about your snipe bids then that only shows their pettiness, that they didn't really want to have to pay that much, and that they overbid the items in their own eyes and are angry with themselves for doing so. You should just ignore such emails and send them to the recycle bin.

It seems to me that all that has been accomplished here is that you've ended up renewing old frictions between yourself and other NLG members, which seems to happen when you go on buying streaks such as this one and the ones mentioned in your earlier post in this thread. Perhaps it would best to just drop the subject.

I know I'm jumping in late here but,
The way I play on eBay is this. At the last seconds I place my maximum bid. If I win it - GOOD. applause
If I loose, Well I made someone else pay more money than I would have. loser   That way someone didn't get it cheap.
This also keeps the value high if I decide to sell others like the one I just missed out on.

The caption is "It's noon...and there's a baboon with a spoon and a balloon on the moon!"

Bummer, no hotlinking allowed.
