IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED.

IF YOU CROSS THE CHINESE BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM
AGAIN.

IF YOU CROSS THE VENEZUELAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY
AND YOUR FATE WILL BE SEALED.

IF YOU CROSS THE CUBAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO
POLITICAL PRISON TO ROT.

IF YOU CROSS THE U.S. BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET:

01 - A JOB,
02 - A DRIVERS LICENSE,
03 - SOCIAL SECURITY CARD,
04 - WELFARE,
05 - FOOD STAMPS,
06 - CREDIT CARDS
07 - SUBSIDIZED RENT OR A LOAN TO BUY A HOUSE,
08 - FREE EDUCATION,

12 - AND THE RIGHT TO CARRY YOUR COUNTRY'S FLAG WHILE YOU PROTEST THAT
YOU DON'T GET ENOUGH RESPECT.

I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE I HAD A FIRM GRASP ON THE SITUATION...

Do you see something wrong with this or, is it just me?

Okay, I'll play liberal devil's advocate.

First, I'm not saying that we don't need to change the way things are in the U.S., and your post illustrates some of the immigration issues that we need to deal with, but seriously, would you really want the U.S. to revert to a brutal system of government that takes the actions that your post indicates are taken by those other governments*?

Would you want to live in one of those other countries (maybe you would)? I wouldn't.

*I have not checked your facts, so I am not agreeing that those specific governments take those specific actions. I am only using the statements made to illustrate actions that I would not  want to see from our government, although the "Saudi" reference to being jailed is vague, and a reasonable jail sentence after a trial would follow our laws and Constitution. Simple deportation would probably be the best choice, with increasing jail time for repeat offenders. That might save some tax dollars. Scratch Head
