Title: Bally 873 Jackpot reset
Post by: applevalleybally on October 27, 2011, 12:14:27 AM
I know nothing about slot machines.  I bought 3 bally "money honeys" at an auction.  I played all three while I was there and payouts were correct.  I sold one and shipped it to california.  Sold the 873 nickel machine to a friend and worked perfect until he hit a jackpot.  Bell is ringing but won't payout jackpot.  The 1964 quarter machine I still have at home worked fine until the same exact thing happened.  What am I missing here?  Thanks, Chris

Hello and  :238-

Were the jackpots that were hit large ones that might require the slot machine to be reset or were they smaller payout? Most of the Bally or other slot machines have a key switch located on the right side of the machine. It is used to reset the machine when a large jackpot is hit. Does your machines have a front glass sticker stating payout over XXX coins will be paid by attendant?

The one at my house is stuck on bar bar bar on the 3rd line, glass says pays out only 20 coins.  No sticker on either machine.  The newer machine has a key lock on the right side but it isn't connected to anything anymore.

If the 873 hit the max jackpot, it won't pay anything.  If it's 200 coins, it pays that otherwise it's "attendant paid"  Also, there is usually a metal reset bar underneath the hopper, that when pushed brings the machine back to life if it did not payout the winnings before the timer hit.
