Scratch Head Hello all, I am very new to this site and have learned alot from all of you knowledgeable slot gurus. I recently aquired a 1972 Bally 809 5cent machine.I made a few repairs and replaced a few bulbs and it works like a charm, and is in beautiful condition.I still have several questions for a few items that need adjustment......1 the payout is always 1 coin short, is that an adjustment on the hopper?.....2 the bell never rings, in fact, I do not see a jackpot bell in the cabinet, shouldnt it be mounted inside just above the slot lever mechanism (to the right of the reel mech) ?.....3 when should the bell ring? will it ring on every payout, or only on the jackpot payout?   the info on the serial # plate is as follows,  809-4ZW........MT-10174....It was built 5-18-74. It is a 5 coin, 5 cent machine, and only has a    any bar....5bar.....777 on the top glass. Any help on these questions would be great!!...THANKS ALL!!

1 coin short, yes that's an adjustment on the hopper. The wiper arms are not returning quite all the way to the end of their tracks on reset. The adjustment is the rubber washer shown in the picture. (Note: this hopper is not reset!)

Bells were optional. If you haven't got one, then you haven't, that's all. The bell rings on every payout and at home it's way beyond bloody annoying. If you want one, take a look in the desert near the California state line - I got so fed up with it, I kicked one into the next state.

<edit: Sorry, the forum is apparently refusing pictures at this time. Well, there's only one rubber washer under a bolt on the hopper traveler.>

Op-Bell, I tested the attachment process and it is working properly. Could it be that the image that you were trying to upload was larger than 1MB? Scratch Head 2

No, I thought of that and checked. It was under 100k jpeg. The message said the file upload area was full, which surprised me as I wasn't trying to upload a file.
