Is there a way to use a 24V CC16 instead of a 13V CC16 in a S2000 Machine with a S+ game in it?

Because I dont have any 13V, but plenty of 24V CC16?

But that's like putting Ford motors into a Chevy.

Take a look at the connector - vastly different.
Not to mention voltages...kinda like trying to plug a kitchen oven into a 115v household socket.

They will make sure you get the right one.

It sounds like you might have have several machines to deal with and would have to purchase a lot of 13v comparitors. It has also crossed my mind that you don't have ready access to the right comparitors where you are located...


I might be going against the consensus here, but putting a 24v CC in a 13v machine probably won't blow anything. It might require a change to the harness, as the different voltage CC16s use different combinations of wires -- and it might or might not work.

The person to ask would be Buzz. He's tried lots of combinations and could tell you if this one would work and how to do it. If you can afford the right comparitors and if they are available in your area, then buy them; if funds are tight, talk to Buzz.

Took one out of a S+ and tried it in a S 2000, wouldn't work. got a "coin in error".

Howzit

You can get the schematics here -http://www.coinmech.com/ after registering.It may be possible to change the power supply circuitry to work from 13Vdc instad of 24 VAC. The inhibit function is however not available on the 24VAC moedl as far as I recall so you may have to build a small circuit to detect this and maybe switch on/off power to comp.

Have not been on that site for ages so account has been suspended so cant check right now

Ok did some digging - Thought I had these somewhere

On the 24 V AC there is a 12 VAc input as well so that may work. The other problem is that on the 13 VDc model (Igame) the machine expects a low pulse and the 24 Vac model gives a high pulse. It should be possible to build a small 2 transistor circuit to invert the pulse and only switch on power if inhibit goes low.
