Machine: Novomatic Gaminator Coolfire II (FV626)

Failiure: Upper Monitor Blacked Out.

Solution: cap replacement in monitor’s main board.

Note: this solution applies to all monitors in FV626 and FV629 slot machines. Usually is all about caps.

Yes our repair particular A/D boards R7X410 / R7X411 already 4 years. If you not replaced SMD capacitor 10uF/16V (reset for the CPU in a PLCC socket) then this lcd monitor again dies after about 1 year daily 24 hours use after power failure. The same is true of the plate CCFL inverter (random failure CCFL light lcd panel). There's more ... About 20% of dead monitors with this A / D board has a problem with eeprom CSI 24C16 SOIC SMD package and 1.8V problem not stable voltage level for scaller video chip typu realtec.

I change all 5 caps 470uF/16V and found bad (shorted) diode D1 (GW 5822).
Is this diode the same as 1N5822?
If I change eeprom is needed to put insaide any program?
Any other idea for repair?
I have three A/D board with the same bad D1.

I have three A/D board with the same bad D1.

1N5822 (40V Schottky barrier diode, 3A, fast switching) electrical parameters is consistent with GW5822, but has a different package.
Equivalent for example SK34SMA (DIOTEC) or similar fast smd schottky diode is used in some DC-DC converter 12VDC to 5VDC.

Also happened to me that the old bad EC17 470uF/16V thus broke DC-DC and his output 12VDC. And after destroy by the U6 EEPROM 24C16 and U7 SM89516.

After an exchange of D1 and caps I check the FET transistor U10 APM4435 to short circuit.
Equivalent APM 4435 is AO4407 or IRF7416. Control IC DC-DC FP5003 (U11)  mostly survives.

If you use U6 24C16 EEPROM from another old board, then to clear eeprom for all FF. New piece eeprom is empty so no need to delete the.

After turning the A/D board to CPU U7 (if good and the correct version) have found that has a blank EEPROM and automatic stores it in the default values​​.

Now monitor works and I will test it for few days before mounting it in machine.

Last time I successfully tested a similar A/D boards R5U210, which is baked the original P-FET transistor APM4435.
I repaired 8pieces this boards with used APM9435. It is similar P-FET , with max  current-slightly weaker, but from old discarded boards R7X120, R5UV210, Z5U etc.
This also used in R7X411 for switching power for LCD panel (near jumpers voltage selection for lcd panel on the A/D board).
This is low cost solution for repair DC-DC converter.

Since these machines Novomatic is warm enough, so the DC-DC converter receives a hard time.
Maybe you do not know that the new series of 22 "LCD monitors are already installed with an internal fan.

If you have an opportunity to test the disassembled monitor... I wonder what the temperature is package U10 with IRF7416 versus APM4435.

Our complete repair introduction of R7X411 (Since December 2011):
- Removal of 5x 470uF/16V Jackcon LOW ESR 8x11, - new assembly 4 x 470uF/16V SAMWHA RZ 10x12,5 or 330uF/25V SHF Decon 10x12,5 and EC17 1x 1000uF/16V SAMWHA RZ 10x20 or Decon SHF 1000uF/16V 10x20
- Remove smd 10uF/16V "reset circuit" for U7 - new assembly SMD tantalum 10uF/16V size A.
- Soldering pins the toroidal choke in DC-DC 12-5V
- Write the contents of the EEPROM using the special programing tool
- Assembly the voltage regulator 1.8 V SOT223 lowdrop + 2x 100nF/16V smd ceramic 0603
- Assembly 100uF/25V SAMWHA RZ 6.3 x11
- Removing the zero resistor 0603 (not remember the number position)
- Removal of 6x 100uF/25V 6.3 x8 on board CCFL inverter - mounted 3x 220uF/35V SAMWHA RZ 10x12,5 or 3x 330uF/25V Decon SHF 10x12,5

80-90% lcd monitors after this procedure will last another 4-5 years nonstop.

If you use a power adapter for lcd from the company RBD Shenzhen china, you can look forward to their exodus after 2.5 years non stop ...

We solved before death adapter, replace 3 caps.

If you are interested in details, explanation of the reasons why, then I'd like to answer precisely.

By the way, I repaired also Elo touch lcd monitor ET1939L, far as I know are in   (slovenian) products - Alfastreet roulette. What's your problem?

We have the RBD power supplies dropping like flies. Which 3 caps did You replace to bring them back to life and do You have any additional info on how to repair/troubleshoot these PSU's (RBD Model RA07-112838)

We use model RA07-12833 with output 12VDC, 8.33A, 100W.

If your type is also similar, then you need all the power adapters that not dead   necessarily C1 (big cap original 120uF/420V, size 18x35 mm, type CapXon KM) replace better type before death - because this cap failure is cause of death.
Our use Decon BS 68uF/450V, price 0,8$/ piece, size 18x35 mm, which work last at least 5-6 years.
If you are looking for compensation to be kind to seek lasting at least 5000 hours/105°C, designed for use in "electronic ballast" with high frequency, because this cap working in PFC circuit .
In addition, C8 and C9 (original 22uF/50V Capxon KM size 5x11 mm) replace for low esr types eg. Samwha RZ, Nippon Chemicon KY, Decon SHF or Teapo/Yageo SY 22uF/50V, 5x11 mm (lifetime of at least 3000 hours/105°C).

What components supplier are available in your country? I can deal with the selection of suitable caps.

Unfortunately this power supplies that have already died is very bad repair, it damage Q2, for PWM control IC2, main fuse FS1, R2 and sometimes also Q1 and IC1.
