Good Morning All,
First I am new to the board and I am trying to learn and search for my answers but there is a ton of info here. I was looking for some answers that I would guess some of you know off hand. For my first machine I am looking to make or buy the following machine:

VP basic machine.
Single game though I assume I could swap eproms for additional games
No touch screen.
I can build the case if necessary.
No coin in.
No payout in any form. I would like to have a reset to clear the credits without a full reboot.
Only bills in. Not picky at this point since going low cost.

I was basically asking for what machine you thought I should try to build and a parts list for it?
Outside of the buttons and box I thought it would be:
Power supply
Motherboard
Eprom w/software
wiring for the above
Monitor converter cable - I was hoping to use a computer monitor I have.

I have a good background in computers, coding, eproms, soldering, cap replacement, hardware etc. So I could make my own monitor conversion cable for example if I knew the pinouts.

I would be willing to buy a beat up machine of this type as well for a good price. (I have searched and not found any) I am obviously going for reliable functionality and not looks.

Any advice in regard to any of the above would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Vegas!

 NLG Welcome

Unless you're building a M.A.M.E. cabinet, I would recommend starting by buying an old slot machine and taking a look inside.  While the core architecture is similar, parts vary widely from game maker to maker.  You'll get a lot of support from IGT and Bally from this site, so picking up one of those games may be best.

Have you checked Craig's List?  There's an S+ for sale in Las Vegas for $200 o.b.o. (if that's where you're located).  If you can get it for $150, not a bad start.

Good luck and have fun!
