Title: S2000 Reels disconnected error
Post by: e2ekielus on December 13, 2009, 06:08:21 PM
My Big times pay S2000 has a humming sound out of left top speaker, so This morning I decided to disconnect it. In the process I pulled out reels 2 and 3 to access the screws holding down the bracket that supports the top glass. Problem is i should have powered down before i pulled them out and i didnt...oops! After i reassembled the top glass and recconnected the reels I closed main door and game booted up and now says, "Call attendant ------ Reels disconnected".  I have powered up and down, even pulled board and restarted, but have been unsuccessful. How can I clear this error, I am certain reels are connected properly.

I would check to make sure the female plug of the reel harness is not pushed out of the reel shelf.  If you have a different game chip or processor board, I would put that in and go through the reset key sequence and see if it clears and then put the original back.

Try turning the reset switch and see if the error clears, I seem to remember getting that code a long time ago when the white plastic display support was hitting my reels, and I think that's what I did to clear it.

Turning the reset key just gets me to the operators Menu. And all reels are connected because when I close main door and game reboots, all reels cycle normally.
As far as another game chip..... I only have one S2000. everything else i have are bally 6000s and a few S+ and one IGT i-game.
Is there a soft reset without chip changing?

Have you verified the door optica and the cash door switch (or the bypass circuit, if it has been bypassed)?

If those are good, how about (with the door open) turn and release the reset key then hold the self-test button down for 2-3 seconds?

I know I cleared this error without clear or key chip...

I read somewhere a while back to turn reset key 4 times then test button for 3 sec. is that right?

If you do not have any key chips pull U18 and place in U45 and then place U45 in U18.

Turn power off, pull reel #2 and inspect the pins in the bottom of the reel and make sure one didnt back out. Check the socket to make sure it didnt fall out of it's frame and the plastic is not broken. Repeat for reel #3.Also check ALL I/O cards and make sure they are fully seated.(power off)
Now allow it to boot up. When you get the error, open the door and close it.repeat if it doesnt clear.
This will normally clear a reel tilt....

I did this same thing a few weeks ago and could not figure out how to clear it. I finally did get it to clear by going into the operator menu and going to I/O tests and running a reel test on all reels. After I did that and then exited all the way out and closed the door and rebooted the machine the error cleared. all is fine.

Got it cleared tonite. I held the test button down for a few seconds (three or four) and it didnt seem like it did anything but after I closed door and it restarted it was cleared.
Thanks for all suggestions.
