Hi, I have a bally eight ball machine I'm trying to bring up.

At this point only the lights are coming on. On the backbox the lower "tier" light bulbs are lighting bright while the upper "tier" bulbs are very dim.

The cpu battery is not on the CPU. iI removed it as it was pretty corroded. Does the battery need to be on the CPU for the machine to work?

Could the missing battery be causing the displays not to come on along with the dimly lit upper teir bulbs??

All of the lights on the play field seem to be on and shining bright.

Also could someone tell me what the CPU (MPU) battery voltage is? i would like to replace the corroded battery with a cheapo AA battery holder from Radio shack.

Thanks For all the Help, Great Forum!!

Sincerely, John

with the corrosion you speak of from the battery, you need to look REAL close at the board. You more than likely have some board damage. Scott
