My father passed away today. He was 86 years old.
He has been on Hospice care for a while, so we did not know how much time we had with him.
I'm glad me, my family, and my kids were with him when he passed.
He could fix anything and everything. He was my hero.  I am so proud of him.
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. I will miss him dearly.
Jim.

Sorry for your loss as I lost my father many years ago. Sorry!
In time the hurt will go and be replaced with the good memory's that you have.

So sorry for your loss Jim.  I lost my dad 2 years ago. He was also under Hospice care.  My sister and I were also Blessed to be by his side when he passed.

It will take some time for the hurt to diminish, it never goes away. I still think about my father and he has been gone over 5 years. I regret not spending more time with him, people tell me that's a normal feeling. I have my memories of all the wonderful things he did and I try to honor him by helping my mother even more with things. One of the best ways to deal with a loss like this is to think of all the time you did have with him & be thankful for it. Don't dwell on the loss, think about what a great person he was and how lucky you were to have him in your life even if it was not long enough.

Hang in there Jim, you're not alone in this feeling you have.

Terribly sorry to hear of your loss.  May you have strength in this difficult time, and remember the great times you had with him to keep your spirits up.

Jim, I seen you post Saturday night, but simply had no words. Take the respect, love, and admiration you had for your dad and use it to honor him by being a hero to someone else, wether it be your kids, nieces/nephews, or friends. Take care. We're thinking of you.
