Your best bet is to buy a new power supply. You can get one for about $25. The best price for a LCD that I get is about $275 for a 19''. With that you will not need the extra transformer. Just hook it up to the extra 110v. There are no real schematics for 8 liner, just the board manuals. I have been working on them for 10yrs now.

Thank you so much! Where do you order your monitors from? The cheapest I've found is $319 for a 17in monitor, and that is the cabinet size im building. Also, the cheapest power supplies I've found are $33.

Now t hat the CRT monitors are getting scarce, this is what I have been doing and it has been working great for me on my 19" full size 8 liner cabinets.  I use HP 1940 19" LCD computer monitors. These monitors work great because you can adjust the pedestal up and down and left and right.  I remove the old CRT monitor and set the HP 1940 on the cabinet shelf. Once you get it in position where it lines up with the opening in your plexi, mark the location of the pedestal base on the plywood.  Swing the monitor up and out of the way and drill about 4 holes in the pedestal base and secure it to the cabinet with  a few cabinet screws  (these are screws used to mount kitchen cabinets to the walls that look like drywall screws but are much stronger).  Next, I use a CGA to VGA video converter, (these are always on ebay for $32 + a few dollars shipping.  Mount the converter board on the side of the cabinet.  Your old sync wires that went to the old monitor now plug into this board.  The converter board needs a  5 volt power supply which can usually be obtained from a nearby wire.  Finally, use a VGA computer monitor cable and run it from the VGA output on your new converter board to the monitor and you are all done.  Total cost should be less than a hundred bucks if you buy the used monitor wisely (ebay $50).  You now have a great looking LCD monitor that fits perfectly, eliminated the big ass CRT, and didn't pay Happ $400 for a 19" LCD that they sell.  Any questions PM me. Mark

It's an easy conversion and the picture will look great on the LCD.  The ebay item number of the video converter that you will need is 250579388167.  I bought that one but he always has more, and $32 is the best price that you will find.  Good luck with the swap.
