Title: External RAM board in PE+?
Post by: Worldwide Gaming on April 13, 2011, 03:15:29 PM
At least I think that's what this may be - has anyone come across this before?  Why is it there?

Thanks!

I can't say I've seen that before.  There's also a (disconnected) switch next to where a lock for the MPU board is that would be activated either when the board was locked or unlocked.  Perhaps it's all related to the machine being attached to a WAP in its previous life?  I've seen some old pictures of PE+ Megabucks video slots.

Yes, there is a fiber WAP connector attached to the back of the machine - I thought of that as well, but pretty much ruled it out as I've worked on PE's w/ WAP that did not have that additional board connected to the motherboard harness.
