Aristrocrat Outback Jack (new to the collection!)

(1/1)

Hey everybody!

I just picked up an Aristocrat Outback Jack (2006 model) for my collection.  LOVE IT.  Dual touch-screens.  Fun theme.

Crazy as it sounds, I think this machine must be some sort of a factory demo unit, if there is such a thing.  First of all, it looks like it's hardly been used.  I have lots of machines (IGT, Bally, even an Odyssey!) and this one looks the most pristine of the lot.  In addition, whenever you press the Service button, the machine adds 100 credits and it does it without incrementing any of the physical counting meters.  I can press it as many times as I want and get 100 credits per.  Also, there's no pay-table viewing option anywhere.  I've YouTube'd videos of people playing the machine in casinos and near the bottom edge of the touch-screen, there are Help & Game Rules buttons.  Not on mine.  Simply not there.  AND on the play screen near the top, right below the Credits display, there's a "Show Software" text box that displays continually except during the bonus rounds.

The machine has a bill acceptor that works great.  I looked at the mechanical counter that services the bill acceptor.  After I inserted $120 worth of $20's, the total lifetime count for the bill acceptor was around $840.  Yeah, I'm pretty doubtful this machine has ever seen actual use.  There's a slot for a ticket printer but there's no actual printer.  The insides of the machine glisten like new.  I have the keys and can walk through the configuration menus.  Many options (even things like "Help Screens") are 'fixed' and I can't change them.   About the only thing I can change are the Attract Mode settings.  Anyway, as I said I love this machine.  I purchased it from a retired couple who knew less about the machine than I did.  I didn't get a history of the machine and didn't realize about this "factory demo" stuff until I got it home.  No matter, I would have bought it anyway.  I picked it up for just under $600.  I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Aristocrats.  I'll post pics soon!

As the software says that is showroom software which usually never got out of the showrooms. Don't know if it is mk6 cabinet or excite. Not to much dif other than you can add credit as you say and usually if you turn the reset key and play it should bring up feature. Not certain if nsw software or somewhere else.
