Have you tried un-soldering the battery from the Mikohn board?
That should wipe out any memory?

Normally though, you just go into the settings via PSP
and do a clear or enter something else to replace what was in it.

This is a Supreme Board, not a chamII+.  You use the Windows Downloader to clear it and reprogram it.

So you are saying you purposely gave out bogus information hoping someone will correct you?  I would be pretty pissed if I followed your advice and ended up wasting my time or worse yet screwing up the board.  Better left unsaid than to give bad info. :30- :30-

No, I think you misunderstood my reply - I said "if"...
Hey! I'm only human, sir !  I was hoping that I was right! :72-

If you get get pissed when someone is trying to help you - then you've come to the wrong place.

Sorry, I don't agree.  If I don't know how to help someone I don't speak up.

You use the Mikohn Windows Downloader program to do it.  You use the standard serial cable that would be used on a CHAMII+

You can completely blast the memory of the Supreme board and reset it to its defaults by, with the power off, holding down both configuration buttons (SW3 and SW4), then apply power to the board.  The Supreme display will show that it's erasing its data and once the process is complete will be reset to its factory default (and any custom programming that existed on it will be deleted).  As best as I can tell, this is a manual way to force it to re-birth itself.

Normally you use a CON2 supercontroller to link the machines with the output being to the Supreme and other signs.
The ChamII are the linker devices that you tie into the CON2 and then hang your meters off the end of.

A single machine can use the ChamII+ standalone progressive connected to a meter. We would use this with a S+, Bally etc.

The newer machines have a Netplex that can connect to the meters directly but I am not aware of anyway to link without the Con2 or equivelent.

I have an older Con1 and have 5 displays - 3 mounted in machines, 1 1x2 in a metal can, and a 2 x 8 over my bar in oak.
The Con1's connect to Cham1's for the small signs and Cham4's for the large signs.

Hope this helps.

It is also worth noting that there is a Con2i specifically for use with IGT machines and a CON2 for use with other brands. They're not cheap so it's important to get the right one for your needs.

i have 6 con2i 6 com2 but does the controller board in the sigh have to a link chip im doing 12 igt pokers with a con2i and some people told me that the sing has to have a link chip in it so you can link my machines is that correct

A meter/sign hung off a chamII simply gets its data from the con2.
It displays whatever the con2 spits out.

Perhaps the newer signs have a link chip that forgoes the need for a chamII or works with some kind of netplex linker but those are newer toys that I may not be aware of but not needed in your configuration.

I have not heard of this before.
Usually the gateways are used from a CON1.

The Con1 uses 2 wires to talk to a slot - Coin in & Gnd. There is no 3rd wire (data return) like there is on a Con2.

The gateway takes the Con1 - 2 wire slot wires  + 2 wire Cham1 output and generates the 3rd wire (data return) so you can either feed that back into a slot or in my case a PE+ to be able to display the jackpot value on the CRT.

There was a CHAM1 to CON2  GateWay,  see the attached pages I did years ago.
