Was your jackpot reset key the one that's cut on two sides? Odds are it's the same 2341 key that's pretty universal to all slot machines anymore. You can get one by posting a WTB ad in the classifieds here on the site. As far as the bulbs go, if they're getting that hot then you might have 6 or 9 volt bulbs in a 12v socket. I'd try replacing with higher voltage bulbs

is this an ultra?  If so they use a c656 bulb which is a 28 volt bulb.  Also if an ultra you can just clear a jackpot with 3 reset buttons.  All my ultras use a round key and I don't have the key.

Odds are it is not a 2341. Universal used a barrel lock with round barrel key. I have several key switches but no spare keys. Not sure how much they would cost to duplicate.
You could just buy a toggle switch use that instead of a key switch. If it is an older Uni it would have a jackpot reset key switch and a meter key switch.
If it is an Ultra Series than it has one key switch for both jackpot reset and meter.
Bulbs are 28v wedge type C656. Jim at BlueRidge Slots has them or I remember Bulbs.com had them too. http://www.bulbs.com/results.aspx?Ntt=c656
Other 28v bulbs like c657 work too, just a little hotter I believe.
