I was having handle issues with sticking so I removed and cleaned the solenoid assembly. Simple process. BUT, I went to power up my unit and WTF????  The lights on the main board flash but nothing else. No display, no fan, no nothing! What could I have screwed up with such a simple process? So the only thing happening is that all the lights on the main board above the small white button all light up and then go off. Then all light up and then go off repeat the process. I appreciate the help.

I noticed a couple more things. The light bulb hanging in the back lights up the inside of the cabinet (and will go off with the door switch) and the coin comparator light (on the back of the unit) flashes off and on also. No other lights or the display do not come on. I really need help! (and a facepalm icon)

Make sure the 2 wires coming off the solenoid are not touching the cabinet. They could be shorting something out.

what happens if you just unplug the solenoid assembly and insulate the leads?  Maybe in your cleaning process you shorted something on the solenoid?

I tried disconnecting the solenoid and same thing. I was hoping the board lights all flashing on and off would help point the way. Scratch Head  Silly Me!

what happens if you turn on the machine with no mpu board, do the lights still flash?  If it doesn't, then I would start by unplugging different things off the motherboard, like reels, and I/O boards separately until the flashing stops (if it does).  This will isolate the part that is causing the issue.

The big traylike assembly where the game chips and sound simm go.  It is vertically mounted on the left side of the cabinet and has a "tab" that you can grab and pull towards you.  It is the "brains" of the slot.

Don't know what he could have done to fry the board?  Scratch Head

What do the LEDs do normally? Aren't the ambers on solid, or is it an amber and green? I guess I've never paid that much attention to them...

You said other things are blinking on and off too, just trying to isloate issues.  BTW, it needs to be said that anytime you do anyting inside your machine as far as moving or removing parts, it should be with the power off.

if he is runnng a enhamced board only the top green light should be a solid color green.....like pic below.....i would pull that board out and reseat it with the power OFF.......

also check power supply make sure its all the way to the right snapped it.... could of got in loose while you were messing with the handle..... its located behind the reels...

OKey-dokey. There is a small board on the side of the main board metal enclosure. When I pulled that board off the machine started. (It has a small handle) Now I have a meter disconnected error. The board number is Model:1920A and there is a part number on the sticker of 14930200 Rev A. Now the question is: what is the piggy back board for? Is pulling the board giving me the meter disconnected error?

If you plug it back in all goes dark except for the flashing lights on the main and the comparator. Would this give me the meter disconnected and door open error?

if its still does the same thing after you reseat that i/o board..... theres a good chance something got loose or not connected all the way somewhere.....

make sure all the reels are pushed all the way back and seated properely....check meter make sure its connected.....something isnt plugged in right..... def doesnt sound like a short if you had the power off.....

A faulty cabinet I/O gives hopper errors and Coin-Out Jams usually. Never heard of it giving a meter error. So, to recap, you are saying this is what's happening:

With Cabinet I/O installed: all dark except for MPU light and coin comp
With Cabinet I/O removed: meter error and Door Open

I can get a Cabinet I/O out to you tomorrow, but I'm not sure that's your problem. You turned machine off and reseated MPU board, correct? Even if you never removed it, it could have jiggled loose, but you really shouldn't even have any lights on it if that was the case...
