I recently replaced a few batteries on a couple machines and after going through the steps to get them back to spinning, I noticed the display now only scrolls  'PLAY x CREDITS' (see in pic 1). It used to show the amount of $ along with credit = (pic 2 shows a different machines display but its what the others used to look like) These are both enhanced and 504's that have changed..

(It shows this during play, with credits in the machine. Not just while idle with 0 credits)

Any help to get them back to normal would be great. I'm sure its a setting, just unsure which.

Thanks!

I would be interested in knowing as well.  I just assumed the display type was a function of whatever SG or SB chip was on the system.

Right. I have never had this issue before. The machines I didn't replace the battery are fine. Its obviously communicating because it shows the max credits for each game.. Just not the info like in pic 2. Hmm

It seems to be, it caught my attention, haha.. How can that be changed? I know about the attract music but never had to deal with the display.

I don't know then. Never seen one display that during active play. You guys must stare at your machines more than I do...

It shuts off for a brief second when you press the button, then turns right back on to that 'PLAY X CREDITS'.

And Yes, I stare directly at my displays when I play. Most my machines don't even have strips.. That's why I really need this back to normal!!

Did you happen to  change games after you replaced the battery?  If so your game has to have a mulit-denom version chip VSO11GX1 and with a
SG chip 312. 362 or 363. Some single denominations will not show split VFD screen.

The multidenom version chip sometimes won't show split screen unless you actually set up the other demons also. I have a King Cash with a mutidenom version chip, set for single denom and only has the larger single line display. The statement about the SG chips is also correct as some won't support split display or multi denom so you get the single line display no matter what. Had this issue on a Money Mad Martians till a member sent me a different set of SG chips.

Ok. I do have some 363's laying around. I will check and see what's in them when I get home.

Thanks for the info!

Enhanced has SG341's with GX0.

504 has SG195's with GX1.

I have a set of SG363's. Hopefully that will help?

Harv,
I believe you need GX1s to show split screen.  This is the multi denom version chip.
