I am working on a pro slot 5500. I put in a new battery and performed the saferam clear and now I have a 65 error code, which is a meter not connected, however, I traced the wiring to the meters and they go to the main board ok. I have 24 volts on the other side of the meter. I would appreciate any information concerning this.

All I knew to do was power off, remove jumper from  number 10, and power on holding test and psuedo. Is there more to it than that? Thanks for replying to my post.

1st if you have the right chips in 3and 4 and 12 and 15 you put the jumper ON no 10 and hold both test and pesu buttons in turn on machine and watch door you will see ch c then cl  c  then let go of buttons  shut off machine and remove jumper 10 reinstall board and power up when everything starts flashing press collect and machine should reset if you dont get ch c and cl c you need clear chips and they go in 12     15

Technically, you will get the CH C while you have both buttons pressed. Wait about three seconds or so after the machine finishes powering up and release the buttons and you should then see the display change to CL C.

The JW10 jumper is stored in an open (disconnected) position with the jumper on only one pin. That's probably the way you first found it. You connect it by moving the pin so that it sits on both pins and then move it back to one pin afterward to store it.

I performed the saferam clear and did see the ch c  and cl c, but after removing the jumper and powering back on, I still get the error code 65. According to the chart in the machine, it is the mechanical meters are disconnected, but in parenthesis, it says France. I'm wondering if there is a dip switch or another jumper that needs to be closed. Thanks for your help.

I was thinking that there were only 2 dips in there. I don't have the machine here with me right now, so I'll check it out when I get home. Thanks.

The 5500 MPU board has two dip switches. They are in line with one another and are labeled SW3 and SW7.

You will have to do another complete SafeRam clear for the DIP switch changes to take effect. Change the switches first and then do the clear, otherwise the new switch settings will have no effect.

The switches are counter-intuitive: On = 0 and Off = 1. Go figure.

JW7 switches should all be ON. I suspect that they currently are not. Switches 1-4 set the jurisdiction. (All 4 on = setting 0 = Nevada) Switches 5-8 must be on and are reserved.

JW3 settings depends on your preferences and hardware.

switches 1-4 set the denomination:

ON ON ON ON 0000 500
OFF ON ON ON 0001 250
ON OFF ON ON 0002 100
OFF OFF ON ON 0003 50
ON ON OFF ON 0004 25
OFF ON OFF ON 0005 20
ON OFF OFF ON 0006 10
OFF OFF OFF ON 0007 5
ON ON ON OFF 0008 2
OFF ON ON OFF 0009 1
ON OFF ON OFF 0010 0.50
OFF OFF ON OFF 0011 0.25
<-- most common for home users.
ON ON OFF OFF 0012 0.20
OFF ON OFF OFF 0013 0.10
ON OFF OFF OFF 0014 0.05
OFF OFF OFF OFF 0015 0.01
ON ON ON ON 0016 $4 (Market 07)
ON ON ON ON 0017 2.5 (International)

Switches 5-6 are set to match your bill acceptor (probably fine as is)
ON ON 00 No Acceptor
OFF ON 01 GPT / JCM DBV,IBA,SRA
<-- most likely set to JCM DBV
ON OFF 02 JCM CBA
OFF OFF 03 Reserved

Switch 7 is for Crazy Reel option (reels spin in different directions for every spin)
ON Normal Reel Spin
OFF Crazy Reel Spin

Switch 8 should be left alone (most likely On):

sw8 Diverter Optic Support
ON Not Present
OFF Present

sw8 and MC=01 EFT Support
ON Not Present
OFF Present

Hope this helps.
