I bought the keypad. Have the manual. But the keypad is NOT changing my options !!!! ( Gulp gulp gulp ).
I want to change the credits so that a win will go into the credit meter, rather than the win being paid out of the hopper.

Here's what I'm doing ( as instructed by the manual ).

 - Plugging in keypad in keypad port.
 - Pressing KEYBOARD/CLEAR.
 - ENTERING 27, then option 01 and pressing ENTER.
 - "Ec" appears on WIN METER after that.

 - Go back press KEYBOARD/CLEAR
 - Enter 27, then ENTER to verify seting.
 - Seting verifies as 00 ( default unchanged ).

I even tried changing the sound settings for the REEL SPIN and such with no success.

What am I doing wrong here ? I can't change the darn settings ! ( Gulp, gulp, gulp ).

I am not sure about Bally settings, but on IGT machines, most settings can only be changed if you have ZERO credits on the machine. Just a stab in the dark...

YES. I  have zero credits on the machine at the time of my trying to change setings. ( The manual mentions it, but it does not apply in my case )

Did you check the current setting, is it 00?  Did you try to change it to player selectable credit or option 02?  does it do the same thing?  The Captain was correct, it can't have credits and it has to complete any current game.

Thanks,

You may also want to check your credit limit, option 51, as well as the other limits.

Thanks,
Wayne

Hay coinopshop,

Setting the options is a little tricky. I fought with the option setup procedure in the book but could not get the new option settings to take.  Finally I found the answer.  When setting the new option you have to enter the whole string of numbers again.  For example Credit Option 27, 0 is non-credit, 1 is standard credit, and so forth.  Entering "27 Enter" on the keypad only shows you the current setting: 00, or 01, etc. You cant change it yet. To change it you need to enter the whole string of numbers:  "2701 Enter"  Once I did it this way all the new options would take.  Also, I believe you need to get all the way out before you go back in to double check the new setting.
If this work for you I'll take a beer too :-)

Good luck,

Mark
