Hi Everyone,

I am totally new to slot machine repairs. My girlfriend has an old slot machine she has asked me to repair. I thought I fix DNA sequencers for a living, so how tough could this be??? Now, I pay the price for being arrogant.... The machine is a Takasago "Double Bonus" slot machine. it takes quarters and has no bill acceptor. My problem is that I can find NO documentation about this machine anywhere. Is it even a remote possibility that this machine might be a clone / knockoff of a more popular (better documented ) machine? ANY CHANCE a a common part from say an IGT machine would be interchangeable or a service manual be close?

Thanks in advance, She can be a real PITA when disappointed......     Silly Me!    Help

Don't know anything about those machines and haven't seen much info on here about them, but if you don't want to disappoint her then throw it out and get here a nice IGT. Just a suggestion and welcome to NLG

Ya, color and style sold a lot of Packaslo (sp) machines.  stir the pot / get cooking

The chicks always like the Triple Butterfly Sevens machines by IGT.

I seem to be having issues posting pictures to this site. Is there a secret process? There are four pics posted under the tab, my pictures. the first and major issue I am having with this machine is that the reset switch does nothing. I find it difficult to start a trip, if you can't take the first step.....

Your pictures may be too big in size for posting to the site.
Try reducing the size and re-posting or change your camera setting and taking new pictures.

That my friend is a very interesting looking machine.
It's interesting to see how different manufacturers build their machines.

Even though the design and the electronics may be laid out differently, most machines still function the same way.

So what is the problem you are having with this machine?

Although I have never worked on one of these, I'm attaching a photo from CommTech's post
I've circled what appears to be the RAM memory battery and a battery switch.
First place to start would be to check voltage of the battery and replace if needed. Then check the switch for proper operation and leave in the on position.

Hi All,

I wasn't sure if I should ask this in the MPU battery change thread or here. I decided here was better. After reading the manual located by CommTech (THANK YOU!!!) and comparing my board to the one in the picture, they are the exact same board. The battery on my board is dead, but what causes me more concern is that the battery soldered on my board is a Energizer 1CR2 lithium battery. My concern comes from the manual calling for a NI-CD battery. I read the MPU battery post and wondering if the type of battery matters at all? is the voltage all that is important? is there an optimal voltage to run?

The original being a Ni-Cad battery would indicate to me that it was meant to be recharged while the game is turned on. I don't think the lithium battery is rechargeable. Apples to apples as long as the voltage is the same the battery you use shouldn't much matter other than trying to come close to the milliamp rating of the original. Check the specs for the original on google or wherever and try to find an original or equivalent replacement
