I used to have one of those machines... I remember mine was a temperamental nightmare. First I would look at the BV head itself and make sure there is a EEPROM installed in the bottom of it. I think it should be an IDO 003, I could be wrong about that, I'm sure someone will chime in if I am. I'm assuming it's a DBV 200 or 145 head. Check that and make sure it cycles when you turn the machine on... If not try a new head.

I just remembered something... I think that machine should have a small mpu board the BV plugs into next to the BV. The mpu plugs into the head and the main mpu. I just may have those parts laying around somewhere.   Scratch Head

I'm not sure, I don't think so. It's been years since I had one.

What Ido is listed on the chip in the bottom of your BV head? Is there a small computer board attached to the side of the BV? Do you have a RAM Clear chip? What model Sigma is it?
We need some more information so we can help you out.

I just read your post. What is the latest with the machine. I may be able to help you as I have a lot of experience with Sigmas and a few parts laying around. It is probably an easy fix. What exactly does the machine do when you turn it on? IMPORTANT do not turn it on without it plugged into a surge protector. Sigmas are very sensitive to power surges don't risk it!! - Koni
