give some info on how i got this far

first machine had been in storage for over a year pluged it up got error code 81 checked battery was dead. took the board out to a local shop to have new one put in volt 3.6 they showed ne how to install the jumper hold test and pseudo coin together turn on machine i did get the clear code powered of the machine took of jumper installed the board (as i was doing this noticed all dip switches set to on for some reason it looks funny i could swear that some were off before the new battery went in) any way turned on machine and error code 41 first reel wouldnot stop spining turned reset switch (jackpot key) and it went through some test then real stopped and error code 40 tried to reset machine a few times even did the clear thing twice still same error. any ideas.

Board specks  mpu board as-3356-201 rev h.  u20 eprom 6887  e594811x-03,   u18 eprom 6887 e594811x-05, all dip switches are on. bill val  dbv-200-sh    coin  cc-16-d.100.

i have the board out and sitting next to my computer any help would be great   thanks

Sounds like a loose connection on the left-most ( #1 ) reel Molex ??

If the reels optics were dirty and that fixed it - you could just about guarantee
that the bill acceptor optics are pretty much in the same condition...
Just use soapy water & Q-Tip swabs...avoid alcohol based products because the optics are
made of a plastic-type of lens and the alcohol just makes the lens cloud up later -
creating even worse problems.

You can down load a free manual from John many numbers. Also a good place to get parts.     http://rudysdeals.com/index.php

There is a dip switch on the MPU that has to be turned on. I wll look it up and get back to you. I know I set mine with 1 tru 5 off and the other 3 on, this way I get 100 credits for one dollar bill.

Before you think the reel board is trash... POS Computer
try switching the connectors between 1 & 2 reels and see if the
problem follows the reel harness or the reels.  Sherlock Smiley

Ae you saying that the reel connected when switched is slowing spinning?  Scratch Head

When you switch the Molex plug on the reels, do you get a different
error code in the display or are you only getting the error [40] code?

You cannot use an IGT Gameking BV in a Bally 5500 and the other way around. They have different software/protocols, and would have to be reprogrammed first.... Are you sure that the BV from the Bally Slot worked in the IGT Gameking??? Scratch Head Scratch Head Scratch Head

I believe that he meant that he took his BV out of his Bally S5500 and tried it in his Gamemaker, (he said Game King by accident)  Older Gamemakers had the same BV as the S5500.

Is it clear now.   Tongue Out
