This is just an info post..For all that may run into this..

S2000 three reel upright machine, full coin and multi-denom. Standard 504 board, no backlit reels.

While playing the user got a coin in jam. there was no jam.

checked and swapped the optics, coin comparitor and harness, all good

doing a i/o test noticed the max bet button did not work and the coin in jam would not clear

replace the switch and no difference

replaced the cabinet i/o - no difference

after many substitutions it turned out to be a bad door i/o card

replaced the door i/o card and all is well..

just one for the records on the Coin In Jam error...

And to add to that...the opposite applies as well.... yes

Coin In Jam = Door I/O (then check hopper optics and hopper driver board)
Coin Out Jam = Cabinet I/O (then check optics, missing jumper)

Just wanted to chime in with my scenario to possibly help others.  I had a " coin in jam "  " call attendant"  .   I tried everything that I read in the previous posts ( door I/O card, coin comparitor, MPU, clear chip, etc.    It ended up being a bad coin optic.      Hope this helps someone down the road.   Bill

To add another sceerio, I was playing my Barcrest 21 Gambler the other night and during the bonus game I got 3 seven cards to get the 21 bonus jackpot of 1000 credits. Well just after that was hit and before it added the bonus total, it went into "coin out jam" error. Now on this machine I do not have a hopper installed nor a coin comparator. I tried resetting it by opening and closing the main door a few time, turning machine off and and reseating each I/O board, and no results on either. So I just did a clear and re set my settings and game has been working fine since. Any idea how this happened in the first place since I don't have a comparator or a hopper?
