Post by: PLUNGER BOY on August 07, 2013, 01:20:51 AM
Just got to  Vegas . Went  to red rock canyon and hover dam today . Traffic is a bitch . My gps is over 10 years old and the voice on it is Jennifer . That girl is LOST  she couldn't find water in the ocean.  Tomorrow at 4 AM it's off to Death Valley  I'm taking my wife and a shovel she can dig her own hole  LOL. Staying at the flamingo  Hilton    Will post pic of hole tomorrow . P.B.

Welcome to Nevada! Traffic is always a bitch in Vegas!!
Temps are slightly below normal at about 100.
Should have went to Death Valley around July 1st. Think it was around 130 degrees then. :159-

Good luck at the casinos!!

Hey PB, welcome to Vegas!  Red Rock is great.  Valley of Fire is like a bigger version ... more driving than walking.  The petroglyphs are cool.  Downtown is always an experience.  Golden Nugget's shark pool is cool.  Hope you have some luck!!  :Dave

When you hit Flagstaff head North up 89 and stop by Casa de Delucchi, only 2 hours North of Las Vegas!

You can meet my 'Sugar Mama'!

I see I've been out of the loop for quite a while.

Coming over to join the club, eh? I'm staying as retired as I possibly can for as long as I possibly can. :97-  (no job so far and not looking.) Inflation might change things in a few years, though...

Vegas has a lot to offer although it's short on culture. They tried with the Smith Center.
Zappos owner Tony Hsieh is dedicated to revitalizing the downtown area with his concept of small businesses, high tech companies and community. I hope he succeeds.

Well, I wouldn't call Death Valley a typical example of what California has to offer. :96-

David  Not me, I'm leaving Ventura a little before daylight Monday morning, destination Boise. I may come back through Vegas Wed. morning, just depends on which highway I turn on when I leave Boise.

Sounds good.
You can buy those for a couple of bucks at the casino bar or get them "free" for only about $21-$101 while playing. :200-  :72- (That's $20-$100 plus tip.)

Just arrive back home from a 5 night stay in Vegas. Boy my feet are killing me! I stayed at the Excalibur and walked everywhere (as I always do in Vegas)! I do take advantage of the free Monte Carlo to Bellagio and Excalibur to Luxor and Mandalay bay Trams, as well as the free shuttles to Sam's Town and Rio,  but even with the free trams there is just so much walking through all of the casinos! Even paid the 5 bucks for the Monorail back to MGM since my ankles were so sore by the end of the week!
Lots of construction going on mid strip! Walked though The Flamingo on the way to catch the shuttle at Harrah's and part of the casino, near the construction smelled like raw sewage!  :86-
The buffets were awesome at Mandalay Bay, Mirage, and Bellagio.  The Luxor buffet sucked big time! Garbage food! Not worth half the price! That place has really gone downhill! Used to be good years ago!
I only ate breakfast at the Excalibur and that was fine.

I play primarily Video poker and had the worse 5 day bad luck streak ever!  :25-  I could not catch a break!
My friend plays only slots and won several decent jackpots including one W2G style and a $1000 hit on Wheel of Fortune at the airport waiting for our departure!

Despite the run of bad luck on my part, I still love Vegas!  :89-

Turned in car today at airport rental center . I called them to see if cabs were on site . These brain dead people that work there said no and I would have to take the shuttle back to the airport then shuttle or cab back from there . What  a bunch of stupid bastards they are as a taxi station was right out there front door . OH WE'LL I guess these type of people have to work somewhere .  I won 100600 pennies on Bally quick hit . That was fun  it's funny how when you have a house full of machines it's just not as fun . Would have been fun to meet a few of you guys in the area  .timing is every thing . The flamingo lost power and 1/4 of the towers were without power FIGURES my room . Special note sure glad my job is not having to wear a costume in 100 F temps for tips .P.B.   There is a guy or girl  in front of the flamingo dressed up as a penis ( dick ) and all my wife said was his balls were dragging on the ground and were dirty . It kind of makes you wonder if that was the last costume left or they chose it .

A lot dicks are walking the streets these days, especially in Vegas.  :72- No pics???
Wish we could have bumped into each other. Stayed this last weekend at Main Street's RV park, under I-95 surrounded by homeless and other interesting individuals, but well guarded by security and adequate for our needs.
Hit 7 out of 8 in quarter keno for $413 and watched a Minn. fellow next to me hit for $1750 with a 7 out of 7. Video poker and the WMS Colossal machines were not nice to me this trip.  :8-
The California Casino has old Jacks or Better 9/6 poker machines that take only quarters and dispenses all wins immediately, except royals. A nice slow way to spend your money and get dirty fingers, like the old days. I jammed the comparitor in my machine and the slot tech broke the ground wire when he pulled it out so that was it for me as all other machines were taken.

I maybe available for a get together this coming Sunday, 8/25. Anyone interested, pm me.

Well got home early Monday morning 12:30 am   Had a lot of fun . Seen lot off new machines . looks like Williams has captured the market in slots , a fair amount of ballys as well . Some S2000 left . Not very many I Games 3902 platform left . Well that's what i saw anyway . Wife played Monster Bonus game hit bonus round and won $20.00 on a 30 cent bet  She is not a big gambling fan . Played craps  But got my A$$ handed to me  I was Buying $100 no 10s and they hit them every time after i started to bet . All the rolls before were point # then 7 out .  Total for the time out there was $800.00 in wins and $1200.00 in losses ( CRAP ) Had great weather and fun, that's what vacations are for . To shake off the daily grind and general overall crap  . Hope to be better prepared next time so i can meet some of the NLG members . Maybe to bullhead City  to see the big cheese  or to meet BUZZ  P.B.

Did the Bullhead City run once when in Vegas for business. It was cool seeing the shop and watch the family in action keeping an eye on 3 suspicious people who looked like they wanted to shoplift. (It's obvious when 3 people come in and immediately split up!)

Joey is good people. :)
