Can someone tell me exactly what parts I need to change out to convert my Bally 5500 from $1 to a 25c machine?   Scratch Head

Thanks

The coin entry should be OK, but if you want it to be for a quarter you can change it.  Coin acceptor possibly.  Coin optic block, so that the quarter breaks the optic field.  as for the hopper, the shelf wheel, and possibly the coin knife.  Sometimes the pinwheel will work, however nort always.  Oh and the legends for the glass.

Thanks,
Wayne

Do you want it to spit out quarters or just take bills?  If its just a change in denom, some clear chips is all you need.

Have done this many times.  Need the following:

1) 25 cent coin back
2) New coin head mounting bracket.  They are different for small and large coin.  This is the bracket that mates with the coin head from inside the machine and also provides the two screws for mounting the top of the coin mech bracket.  You can make a small coin bracket form the dollar bracket (need to drill a couple new holes and cut away some metal in the right place.  Have had to do this a lot lately as no one seems to have the small coin brackets.
3) The cc16 coin mech can be reused.  Just remove the pug that keeps it from closing down to small coin size and remove the large counterbalance weight.
4) Replace the spacer in the coin optics with one for quarter size or else use a hot glue gun and make a little barrier/wall sloping sloping down toward the optics holes to guide the quarter correctly down over the optics.
5) Replace the pinwheel, shelf wheel and knife (actually can use the same knife if you want).
6) Change the denomination decal to 25 cent
7) Change the dipswitches for the BV on the MPU to 25 cent
8) Clear ram so new BV settings will be accepted

Then go get a bunch of quarters.  Piece a cake!
