For those of you who were following the other led thread, I've found some interesting results -

1st -  http://www.cointaker.com arrived already!  -   I ordered on Saturday and they are in my hand Wednesday - Can't beat that with a stick -

2nd the LED quality is great -  the #73, #86 and #555 bulbs all have no polarity so they work regardless of how they are inserted in the machine

3rd compared to bcspinball.com - the the bulbs are at least 2x bright -  They are just gorgeous

In conclusion - I will not order from BCSpinball again.   My only issue is that I replaced the cash out #73 on a 3902 I-Game
It's twice as bright and clean as the other bulbs

When I get the batch from superbrightleds.com I will compare brightness - if there're the same I'll have to replace all of them  Duh!

In the first picture you will see the cash out button replaced

In the second picture you will see the repeat bet replaced

In the third picture you see the bally 6000 #555 bulbs

Keep a close watch on the button housings Munch.
I've seen bulbs too bright melt the crap out of button housings
where the threads are under the deck.

You may get lucky though as yours are LEDs but I've seen
them get a little too hot for my comfort and safety.

If they're the correct voltage they can still do this?

You just never know...
non-OEM parts is always taking a bit of a chance.
With that in mind, just peer under the deck whenever you're done playing and put your hands on the threaded part to feel how much heat is there.
If it's melting...I'd change them out to something a little dimmer.

I don't want to scare you but I put in LEDs into an S+ one time and almost had a short.
The bulb casing and the button LED holder were so melted that the wires nearly shorted out.
It's a good thing there's fuses in these machines in case of a short for safety reasons.
I had posted pictures of the melted LEDs once here on NLG but I've long lost the name of that thread... arrow
I also do NOT remember if the LED voltages were correct or not...
it was quite a while ago when that happened.

Munch  I don't know if you have any S 2000 left. If you do, do not put a LED bulb behind the .25 denom sticker ( reel glass ).  If you do, expect to see SMOKE !!!!!!!!!!

When you're ready to shut down for the night - just feel the button housings
under the deck to see how warm they might be.
That will give you a good idea.

I noticed that in picture three I can still see the undersized round projection of the LEDs within the square button tops. One of the reasons I was interested in ordering from BCSpinball was that they claimed to have extra wide angle LEDs to prevent that problem.

Do the new sites have wider angle LEDs? Scratch Head 2

Glad to hear that it's not noticeable with the naked eye. Personally, I never risk indecent exposure by leaving the house with naked eyes; I always make sure they're covered up. Nerd Crazy  Cry Laughing Cry Laughing

The 555 replacement bulbs I have from SuperBrightLEDs.com are the wide type -   So we will see if Stat notices the difference -   Don't let him know I got them.   stir the pot / get cooking

Shhhhhhh!!! He won't read it.    ttth

Anyway -  NOW FOR THE RESULTS!!

1.  Let's start with the first picture below - here you see the an IGT I-game 3902 -  The cash out button is from CoinTaker.com and the play 1 line is from superbrightleds.com
The brightness is about the same so I have no complaints here  -  The color is slightly more blue from superbrightleds.com - the other LEDs are stock and are much dimmer and need to be replaced.

 2.  The second photo here is my BlueBird -  Here you can clearly see the difference between the two rows of buttons -  The second row is from BCSPinball.com and the top row is from CoinTakers.com -  Here there is no comparison -  cointakers.com is much brighter and the bulbs just go right in -  they win hands down

Next up is for STAT

the next picture is of the wide angle 555 bulb The spin button is the wide angle bulb from superbrightleds.com where the bet max is from coin takers.com
except for a slight color temperature change I can't tell the difference **** my photography is off here somehow because the bet max is NOT yellow as it appears in the photo  - it is a tad brighter

ok now for the grand finale  - - this last pic is of all three of my machines -   From Left to Right -  the 3902 with two buttons replaced the 044 with all superbrightleds.com LEDs installed and the BlueBird with top row cointaker.com and bottom row bcspinball.com

...

The picture makes it appear that the CoinTaker bulb has a wider, more even distribution, but it also seems to be brighter, blowing out the camera a bit more than the suprtbright – and it looks more yellow, of course. As you point out, however, they don't appear the same in person, so you're the best judge of which is best.

...
ok now for the grand finale  - - this last pic is of all three of my machines -   From Left to Right -  the 3902 with two buttons replaced the 044 with all superbrightleds.com LEDs installed and the BlueBird with top row cointaker.com and bottom row bcspinball.com

Those brighter bulbs certainly pop out at you!!  Cheer Leader Dancing Party

I have posted this in other LED threads but I didnt see it here.  Just to make your experience even better, Cointaker also has a coupon code for 10% off!!  Just type in "Pinside" for the coupon when you check out and you are on your way.  Don't say I never gave you a present!!   Cool Thumbs-Up
